Over recent years St. Stephen’s has begun to work in closer partnership with St. Matthew’s, Bayswater – sharing in leadership, seasonal services, Lent courses, supporting each of the churches different events etc
The vast, grand, and beautiful building of St. Matthew’s is surprisingly hidden away near to Kensington Gardens but is home to a warm, welcoming, prayerful and faithful congregation.
Sunday services at St. Matthew’s are usually from the Book of Common Prayer and infused with excellent bible teaching and inspirational music led by their excellent choir and organist. There is also a quiet, reflective service of holy communion each Sunday morning at 8.15am.
Under the leadership of the Vicar, Will Coleridge, St. Matthew’s has recently begun an exciting mid-week gathering entitled ‘ekklesia‘ – a great opportunity for fellowship and worship in the middle of the week, especially for those who are often away from London at weekends.
We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God,
the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people,
which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven.
You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.
This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world.
It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives,
just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood
the truth about God’s wonderful grace.
