Harvest of Honey and Hope

Picture1

Following in the footsteps of his father, Victor Zama, seven year old Matthew delivers much needed food parcels to vulnerable, elderly neighbours in the town of Cobani in Moldova.

Since moving back to his home town, along with his family, Victor has been pioneering many community activities to support the elderly and the young, many of whom struggle with extreme poverty in this remote part of the poorest state in Europe. Through acts of kindness and generosity along with opportunities for learning and fun, the Nehemiah Project brings hope as well as practical care and support to many in great need.

Please pray for Victor and Lili, and all involved in the Nehemiah project. To learn more about their latest activities please downlaod their latest newsletter – The Zama Family Newsletter – June 2016

Happy, Healthy Holiday Club

20160603_134901Over the school half-term holiday, we helped run a children’s holiday club in partnership with Westbourne Park Family Centre. Thirty-six primary school aged children attended the club, and a dozen teenagers assisted as young leaders.

Ofsted inspected the club to consider our provision for 5 year-olds which they rated as ‘Good’, but they particularly noted how happy the children all were and the very positive role models provided by the teenagers.

Throughout the club, we focused on healthy living and the importance of ‘friends, food, fitness, focus and faith’, illustrated by stories of Daniel from the bible.

The holiday club is a much valued provision for local families, and the children always enjoy a happy, healthy time!
