‘These are the gifts Christ gave to the church….. to equip God’s people
to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.
This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith
and knowledge of God’s Son
that we will be mature in the Lord,
measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.’
Ephesians 4 v11-13
Here at St. Stephens, we aim to offer ample and varied opportunities for discipleship. At our church, some have been followers of Jesus for most of their lives while others may still not be sure what they believe – but we hope that we can help and encourage each person to grow in their faith and in maturity as followers of Jesus.
This happens through our Sunday worship and bible teaching – including our Sunday Club for children and young people – but also our regular discipleship groups –
home group; youth group; and Community Bible Study.
For those wanting to explore more about the basics of the Christian faith we also run Alpha courses.
We also arrange additional courses and study days such as ‘Introducing the Bible’, ‘Growing Leaders’, ‘Discovering your Spiritual Pathway’, ‘Understanding Stress’, ‘Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians’ etc
