“Christian worship is the most momentous, the most urgent,
the most glorious action that can take place in human life.”
Worship at St. Stephen’s focuses around our 11am Sunday service when the church family gathers together to share in praise, thanksgiving, prayer and adoration. We share in fellowship, celebrate the sacraments and listen to God’s Word.
Our worship is a blend of contemporary and traditional; it has a simple liturgical structure; it is shaped by the seasons and festivals of the Christian year.
We seek to approach our majestic, creator God with awe and holiness yet equally experience the intimacy of our loving, heavenly Father.
Our 11am Sunday services usually follow this monthly pattern:
- 1st Sunday – Morning Worship: all ages worship together before the young people go to their own Sunday Club activities while adults stay in church for prayer and bible teaching.
- 2nd Sunday – Family Communion: all ages worship together before the young people go to their own Sunday Club activities while adults stay in church for prayer and bible teaching, after which the young people return as we celebrate holy communion together
- 3rd Sunday – Family Worship: an all-age service with young people taking a lead in music, bible reading, prayers, and drama.
- 4th Sunday – Holy Communion: a quieter, more reflective celebration of holy communion with the young people enjoying their Sunday Club activities throughout the whole service with a special focus on mission
Our hope and prayer is that each person attending worship at St. Stephen’s, at whatever point they are on their journey of faith, will encounter the presence of the living Lord God and experience His blessing on their life.
